The Digit

the digit application

The Digit's stepper motor design allows for easy open-loop digital position control. Ultra Motion offers several control options for the Digit.

The simplest configuration uses a slave driver which takes step and direction signals from another source (such as a PC running LabView, a PLC, or a microcontroller) and supplies the required voltage and current to the motor coils in the proper step sequence.

A slightly more specialized controller allows the operator to control the speed and direction of the actuator with an analog voltage.

If more sophisticated control is required, we offer several programmable controllers that allow the user to follow an external optical encoder, execute pre-defined motion profiles, take action based on input bits, operate output bits, and perform a wide variety of programmed actions.

The MMI (Man-Machine Interface) can add a simple and rugged user interface to any of our programmable controllers.
