The classic control board offers a range of simple command protocols such as analog signals (±10 VDC, 4-20 mA), digital signals (preset positions, RC PWM), and RS-232 serial. The N-controller is ideal for applications ranging from laboratory research to industrial automation and unmanned vehicles.
The industrial control board offers a 4-20 mA input and an isolated 4-20 mA output for simple and robust communication with new and existing PLC systems. The industrial control board can also be provided a ±10VDC command signal, and has an RS-422 full duplex serial connection for more reliable communication in harsh environments compared to the classic controller.
The CAN controller has firmware options for either a simplified CAN 2.0B compatible protocol that can be configured for use in a wide range of systems, or CANopen per CiA DS301/DS402 with support for cyclic synchronous position and profile position modes. The CAN controller has a half-duplex RS-485 serial connection for diagnostics, configuration, and field updating of the firmware.
* If your application will have forces that assist the actuator’s motion (vertical application against gravity, spring, etc.) a power shunt should be used to protect the electronics during assisted motions, backdriving, and decelerations.
